Public Forum dates and time

Per PSU Communications:

Margolis Healy, an independent security consulting firm Portland State hired to review campus safety policies and procedures following the officer-involved fatal shooting of Jason Washington, will be holding nine listening forums on campus from Oct. 30 to Nov. 1. PSU encourages students, faculty, staff and community members to attend one of the 90-minute forums and provide feedback to the consultant.

Margolis Healy will also examine training, staffing and possible alternatives to a sworn, armed campus police force. Their review will study all options to protect the campus and make recommendations to President Rahmat Shoureshi and the PSU Board of Trustees. The consultant has asked that no audio or video recordings as well as still photography be allowed during the forums that could discourage individuals from attending or speaking.

All listening forums will take place at PSU’s Academic and Student Recreation Center (ASRC) Room 515. There will be an online survey available on the week of Oct. 29 for those who can not attend the forums but would like to provide feedback.
